Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you post a job, contact us, or use our tools. This may include:

Basic Contact Information: Your name and email address.
Job Preferences: When you use our job preference tool, we collect information about the types of jobs you're interested in, including categories (e.g., Food & Climate, Animal Welfare), job functions (e.g., Operations, Marketing), regions, sectors, experience levels, work modalities, and job types. This information is associated with your email address to personalize your experience on our platform and to allow us to save your preferences for future visits.
Email Retention: When you first provide your email address to save job preferences, we retain that email in our job seeker leads database. Even if you later update or remove your email from your preferences, we keep the original email on file to maintain our records and understand platform usage. You can request deletion of your email by contacting us at hello@thejobfeed.org.
Newsletter Opt-In Status: Whether you have chosen to subscribe to our email newsletter (this is optional and separate from saving your job preferences).
Job Search Roadmap Subscription Data: If you subscribe to our Job Search Roadmap service, we collect and store career development data including your job application tracking, career goals, and progress notes. This data is only accessible to you and is stored securely to provide personalized career guidance.
Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers. We receive and store only transaction records and subscription status from Stripe.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our services, we automatically collect certain information to help us understand usage, improve our platform, and for business intelligence purposes. This includes:

Usage Data: We track user interactions with our site, such as pages viewed, jobs clicked, filters applied, and features used. This helps us understand what is most valuable to our users.

Aggregated Data & Market Insights

Consent-based: This section includes only directory members who explicitly opted in to aggregate workforce insights. Members who declined or didn't answer are excluded entirely. Their data does not appear in any figure on this page.

We may aggregate and anonymize the preference data we collect (such as which job categories are most popular, which regions have the highest demand, which experience levels are most sought after, etc.) to create market insights and reports. This aggregated data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

We may share these anonymized insights with:

Employers to help them understand talent market trends and inform their hiring strategies.
Partners and industry organizations to support and advance the sustainable food sector.
In public reports, blog posts, or presentations about the state of the job market in sustainable food systems.

We will never sell, rent, or share your individual personal information (name, email, specific preferences) with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage to enhance your experience and for analytics purposes. For example, we use local storage to remember if you have already seen our interest capture form so we don't show it to you on every visit. Important: Saving your job preferences on our platform does not automatically subscribe you to our newsletter. These are two separate choices you can make independently.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the transactions you have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations and resolving disputes.

Job Preferences: Retained as long as you continue to use our platform or until you request deletion.
Job Performance Analytics: Data about job views and application clicks is retained for up to 60 days to provide performance reports to employers.
General Analytics: Usage data such as page views, filter usage, and site navigation is retained for approximately 30 days to help us improve our platform.
Quiz Responses and Weekly Statistics: Aggregated and anonymized data is retained for market research and reporting purposes.
Job Search Roadmap Subscription Data: Retained while your subscription is active plus 90 days after cancellation to allow for reactivation. After 90 days, your career roadmap data is permanently deleted.
Payment Records: Transaction records and subscription history are retained for 7 years for accounting and tax compliance purposes.

We run regular cleanup processes to ensure old data is removed in accordance with these retention periods, protecting your privacy and maintaining platform performance.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes implementing data retention policies to minimize long-term storage risks and using secure connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

Automated Processing

We use automated processing to personalize job recommendations based on your stated preferences. We do not use automated decision-making for employment decisions—those are made solely by employers.
